About Me...

I have loved animals all my life. I grew up in a house filled with dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs ~ anything I could talk my parents into letting me keep!  

My best friend had a horse, and I spent my teen years around horses; I worked my way through my freshman year of college cleaning stables. I had entered college as a dance major, but found I was happier mucking stalls in the barn than I was on the dance floor, so I transferred to the Animal Science Institute in Miami, FL, and became a certified veterinary technician, a job I have held (on and off) for more than 20 years. 

At one point, I decided to pursue my childhood goal of becoming a veterinarian, and was accepted to Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. At the time, my two children were 1 and 3 years old and I found that it wasn't possible for me to be "all there" as a mom while attending vet school. I left TUSVM, went back to working as a veterinary technician, then worked in retail at Pet Supplies "N More here in Fitchburg. I have always done pet sitting "on the side" but now do it as a full-time business.
